How one insult can change your life for the better
So I'll paint the scene!
I had just ordered Hell's Pizza after returning from the AIESEC office. I was hungry, I was tired, and I was into relaxing and watching some TV.
It was on who wants to be a millionaire (Australian version), and this guy was on a question that if he answered correctly would give him 32k. He had used 50:50, had two options left, but said to the presenter, I don't want to take the risk, I'll take the money and go home. The presenter, Eddie McGuire, says to him "OK Pansy Boy". I laughed a little, cause while you're at home you're always thinking people should take the risk, since you don't have to deal with the consequences. Anyway the contestant immediatly says "OK Lock in 'A'". The contestant then goes onto win $125,000 compared to the $16,000 he would have won if he had walked away before Eddie called him Pansy.
For the guy who won the money it sounded like it would do alot for his family. I couldn't help thinking just how something as small as two words, can have such an impact on the lives of a family.
It got me wondering if any such events have happened in my past, where someone said a few words that dramatically altered my life's direction. Can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure every day moments like this happen to me or the people who influence me. What if all those years ago my parents never said "I do" (or whatever the indian eqivelent).
Anyway yay for the guy who won heaps of money =) Can call me a Pansy Boy any day.
